Being Creative to Solve Problems
Have you ever thought of yourself as being creative in solving problems? Well, I am a creative person, and I think of being creative as a beautiful piece of art, or a magnificent design building or room. Or it could be a successful genius inventor like Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, or Steve Jobs. These people all used creative concepts, but creative people also think in practical ways to do things. They solve problems regularly by using an original thought.
Creativity is one of the most underrated yet incredible traits that a person has. It is one of the few talents that you can nurture to some extent. It appears to be inherent in some individuals while absent within others. The good news is that we can develop creativity for problem-solving.
People throughout history have risen in their respective fields due to a knack for thinking outside of the box. They did this by using creative thinking to resolve an issue or problem. Creativity avoids using the one approach method to solve a puzzle. How this trait manifests itself in people is very diverse. It is much the same as the creativity that results in well-known pieces of music or works of art.
Some of the inner workings of the most life-changing technology available today were born in the brain of a creative individual. For those of us lacking Michelangelo’s, innovative thinking is attainable through effort. The purpose of this discussion will be to outline a few ways to use creative thinking in your own life in an attempt to solve complicated issues.Difficulties are opportunities in reverse Click To Tweet
Different Outcomes Need Different Methods
While we often fail to realize it, many of us spend an enormous amount of time making the same mistake, or a very similar one, on a repeated basis. The result is anger and frustration to the point that a lot of people give up on the thing altogether. But, when we stop and think about it, whatever this mistake is in our own lives, the issue is that we are usually taking the same path every single time.
If you want to use creative problem solving or resolve a problem that has stumped you over and over again, you had better stop trying to conquer it the same way. The truth is, it is better to fail, but fail differently than continue to repeat a perpetual cycle. If you want something you have never had, you have got to do something you have never done.
There Is No Cookie Cutter Solution
Although the majority of the people in your life will tell you otherwise, there are very, very few things in life that one way to do them. All too often, we get into the habit of using the same method to address the same obstacle. When using this logic on something simple, such as opening a jar, the process is usually auspicious time and time again. But when faced with more challenging issues it is essential to avoid taking the general opinion as gospel.
There will be times in your life where a new problem will require you to come up with a novel solution. When those around you are all using the same tools and consistently failing, the same mechanism will probably not work for you either. Try something different.
Be Confident Enough to Do Something Abnormal
So, what strategies for creative problem solving do you choose? Do you classify yourself as logical, or do you prefer a more systematic model? Or, do you engage other options to work out tough challenges? Whichever you tend toward, you should shake up your old ways of doing things and try a new idea.
The fear of being criticized by other people has terminated incredible ideas before they could even take flight. Human nature tells us to avoid things that are different and new, and creative thinking is a prime example. You can have all the creative thinking ability in the world, but if you are too scared to act on any of your ideas for fear of standing out from the crowd, it won’t do you a whole lot of good.
- If you don’t want the same results you must change your method.
- It is better to fail but fail differently than to continue in the same cycle.
- Human nature tells us to avoid things that are different and new.
