What Is Matcha Green Tea?

Have you heard about the hottest and “sexiest” tea trend going on today? You know by now that green tea is super healthy. It aids in digestion, helps curb weight gain, fights stress and anxiety, and delivers a long list of beneficial health properties. As it turns out, matcha green tea is better than the rest.

From lattes to holiday cookies, matcha is popping up everywhere lately. Black, oolong, and white teas are definitely good for you, but matcha green tea currently reigns supreme.  It is the King of the trendy and healthy beverage empire.

Matcha green tea is 100% natural and organic. Made from green tea leaves which are ground to a fine, powdery consistency. Dating back 900 years in Japan, matcha tea is still used to this day by Buddhist monks to keep them awake, alert, and focused, and as a meditative mood booster.

You need to get on board the matcha movement immediately.  Valued for being more catechin-dense than most foods, the health benefits of matcha are more profound for those who drink it regularly.  Potential benefits range from improved heart health to lower blood sugar levels, increased weight loss, and more.

Benefits of Matcha Green Tea

  • Offers cancer-fighting properties
  • Promotes strong, young-looking skin
  • Relieves stress and anxiety
  • Boosts your immune system
  • Increases energy
  • Improves physical endurance

Did you know that blueberries and pomegranates remove dangerous toxins and free radicals from your body? Guess what? Matcha green tea contains 20 times the ability of those 2 superfoods to remove both free radicals and toxins from your system.

Aside from that, this vibrant and unique looking tea packs a very flavorful punch. It tastes great. Matcha tea has become so popular in recent years that you can find matcha cafes in San Diego and Portland in the US, Hanoi in Vietnam, and Hong Kong in China.

The benefits mentioned above are due to this powerful fact – matcha has 10 times the nutritional and antioxidant value of other green teas. Health professionals suggest that you eat the entire leaf and maximize the health benefits this beverage offers. Some even cook with the powder. No matter how you decide to ingest it, try some matcha green tea today and experience the wonderful flavor and health benefits for yourself.

It does have caffeine, but less than coffee, and its slow release so there’s no high or crash. Also, if you buy quality matcha, like this one from Perfect Supplements, it will have high levels of the energizing amino acid L-theanine.  This amino acid is helpful in calming stress.

Perfect Supplements matcha powder is a blend of both matcha and the superfood moringa, thus why they call it “matchinga”.  It takes fantastic!

And it’s some of the best quality matcha you can buy (it’s so important to get good matcha, otherwise it’s a waste of money.
